New Song on the Way: “Painted Over the Lines”

There’s a new song on the way.

Over the past few months I’ve been working on something called “Painted Over the Lines.” Like a lot of songs, it started as a simple idea that wouldn’t leave me alone. A melody showed up first, then a few lines that kept circling back every time I picked up the guitar.

The song is really about those moments in life when things don’t go the way we planned. The lines we thought were permanent get blurred, crossed, or completely painted over. Sometimes that’s frustrating, sometimes it’s freeing, and sometimes it’s exactly what we needed to see things differently.

“Painted Over the Lines” sits right in that space.

It’s a reminder that life doesn’t always stay inside the boundaries we draw for it. And maybe it isn’t supposed to.

I’ve started playing the song live a little bit and it’s been fun watching it take shape in front of a crowd. There’s something about sharing a new song before it’s fully out in the world that feels honest and raw.

I’m looking forward to releasing it soon and sharing it with all of you.

If you’re part of the Road Crew email list, you’ll be the first to hear when the song drops.

Thanks for listening and for continuing to walk this road with me.
